Taste 4 stars It's a large restaurant facing the square of Prato della Valle, one of the landmarks of Padua. It's always crowded with locals. Since it's near the headquarters of the Catholic Church St. Antonio, also many tourists come to eat here. The interior is elegant, but with relatively popular atmosphere. The menu offers the Italian food in general and all of them are delicious on average. They use seasonal fresh materials so apart from regular menu, you can enjoy a taste of the season. Let's ask a waiter some advices!

Take a walk to the Prato della Valle

Everyone knows this restaurant which is facing the Prato della Valle. The current restaurant's building is the ex-church of 1600s. The spacious interior, the walls covered with frescoes, marble statues tell those old days. You would feel as if you are eating in the museum. Please enjoy a meal. The name ''Zairo'' came from an antique theater of the Roman times.

Seafood risotto is recommended!

Fresh seafood which arrives at the restaurant every morning is so delicious. I love their Spaghetti Vongole (spaghetti with clams). It's possible to ask an arrangement and I often order "Rosso (red) "adding the tomatoes. The another recommended menu is "Risotto ai Frutti di Mare". A dish of risotto of plenty of seafood like shrimp, lobster, squid, clams and mussels with fresh tomato. Al dente risotto is superb finish with rich seafood flavor. . . It's a very voluminous dish.

Choose your starters (antipasti)

For the starters there is a buffet basically. The waiter will prepare a dish of antipasti which you'd like to taste from the big oval plate at the counter. Marinated small sardines or swordfish, Salad of squid and octopus and seasonal vegetables etc. Don't hesitate!! These are not just starters. If you would like to take one more "light" dish after the primo piatto (pasta or risotto), I recommend to take the secondo piatto (main dish) from here.

Do not miss dishes of seasonal local vegetables!!

Venetian region has many unique vegetables. In spring asparagus (also white asparagus) of Bassano and wild grass called Bruscandoli. In autumn Funghi porcini and in winter Radicchio of Treviso etc etc... They stock seasonal fresh vegetables at any time and new menu appears frequently. You can enjoy various starters, risotto and pasta, source of meat using these vegetables. Let's ask best seasonal vegetables to a waiter.

Authentic Neapolitan pizza and homemade sweets

Also pizza is recommended. Pizzaiolo who came from Naples cooks only Neapolitan Pizza over 30 years, just as an artisan artist. He prepares pizza dough every day from flour, and checks its conditions by himself. Here is "Ristorante Pizzeria" as the name, so it's possible to order just only pizza if you want. In addition, all sweets are prepared in this restaurant. Various seasonal cakes and tarts, Zuppa Inglese, Crema Catalana, Tiramisu etc... Here please try to taste traditional sweet of Padua "Pazientina". A sponge cake with the layer of Zabaione, covered with chocolate. Highly recommended! Delicious!!
