Ristorante Tridente

Padua's Restaurant Tridente
Inside of the restaurant. The floor is lighted up by blue color. I feel a little oriental atmosphere.

Recommended starter "Antipasti Tridente". Assorted seafood appetizers.

Of course, they have also meat. Grilled beef in cream sauce of green pepper. Excellent steak.

Padua's Restaurant Tridente
Banco at the entrance (counter). Because the restaurant faces the main street, outside is a little bit noisy but thanks for this wonderful space welcoming you, you'll forget the hustle and bustle of the outside in an instant.

Padua's Restaurant Tridente
Staffs. From right, Antonio (Hall manager), Roberto (Chef), Domenico (Chef), Tina (waitress).

Taste 5 stars It's located a little bit away from the historical center (old town), but it's really worth to visit. It's still a young restaurant launched by a hall manager and two chefs in 2007. Even if it's situated outside of the center, they continue to increase regular customers steadily since the opening. Dishes of fresh fish are highly recommended. You can feel their ethic elaboration from each plate. The inside is casual-elegant. It's a good restaurant where you can enjoy delicious cuisine calmly.

The name of the restaurant shows their motto.

The name of the restaurant "Tridente" means the 3-pronged sword of Poseidon in Greek mythology. This is used also for the symbol mark. Since they started this restaurant in three friends, they decided to use this word. All three had been colleagues at another restaurant in Padua for a long time and finally they opened here in 2007. The name of the restaurant shows their motto: to collaborate together.

Dishes of fresh fish are highly recommended.

They offer both meat and fish, but fresh fish is highly recommended to choose. Their cuisine is based on traditional Venetian recipe, but sophisticated with light taste. Dishes full of originality. Of course, seafood is brought from a fishing port of Venice, Chioggia. It's essential to treat fresh fish quickly, and they faithfully keep this rule. From starters to main dishes like Marinated fish, grilled fish, Fritto (flied fish), pasta... many kinds of seafood are arranged in a variety of dishes. But their arrangement is not too much exaggerated. You can taste simple and natural taste of raw materials.

Antipasto platter of seafood is recommended!

A platter of starters, "Antipasto Tridente" is pretty good. It's an assorted fish appetizers prepared every day, so delicious! On that day I had crumbed baked scallops, grilled small squids, marinated sardines, marinated small swordfish, tuna salad, boiled octopus, and shrimp of mille-feuille style. It's better to share in two people! For lunch, especially women might become satisfied with only this one dish. It's very reasonable and delicious dish.

Substantial variations of pasta menu.

All of pasta is delicious, no doubt. From such classic "Carbonara" or "Arrabbiata" to seafood pasta, there are various choices. One of the innovative dishes is "Crepes of Baccarat (dried cod)": crepes of boiled dried cod and cream, or "Tagliolini (slender flat noodles) with Polpa di Granchio (crab meat)". It's also good to try simple pasta menu like "Vongole (clam)", "Scampi" and "Homard shrimps" etc.. My impression is that every dish has a good mariage of the raw material and its source.

Elegant atmosphere but fair price.

Actually, this restaurant was a Chinese restaurant. There is a water tank under the floor and you can see fish swimming. (However, these fish are not used for cooking...). The interior is designed very elegantly but there is also a casual atmosphere. Many locals come to enjoy meals. Since it's away from the city center, there are less tourists. I can confirm that the balance between quality of cuisine and price is very well.

I recommend "Ristorante Tridente"!

From outside there is no remarkable point, but inside is a great space. Their cooking is based on seafood and light taste.
