The entrance of the restaurant located under the arcades of an old alley. It's
a quiet street even if it's in the center of the city. Please don't miss the
entrance door.
The restaurant has a large space inside. It's elegant but not too much snobbish
atmosphere.
One shot from near the entrance. It's also very nice the elegant interior decorating
and table settings.
Bigori of anchovy. Bigori is a traditional thick pasta of Veneto region, made
with whole wheat. It's tough to eat!!!
Mix Seafood fritter. Served with homemade tartar sauce. Squid, shrimp, vegetables
etc. Seafood is very fresh. I felt the sweetness of the materials.
Mille feuille of grilled swordfish and boiled vegetables. It's served in three
overlapping layers of grilled swordfish and boiled vegetables cooked in tomato.
Dolce changes daily. Photo is a Zabaione and Cornucopia with strawberries. Cornucopia
means a horn shape. Its origin is the horn of the goat which gave milk to Zeus
in Greek mythology. It's a symbol of fertility.
Coffee after the meal with Zaetti (Veneto's biscuit made from corn flour). Of
course, it would be great to taste with grappa!
Waiter Marco and Christiana, the only daughter of Martinato Family. Christiana
has just given birth to a baby last year. She is extremely busy working in restaurant
and taking care of her baby. Mark has worked here for several months. He loves
not only the nice atmosphere of the restaurant and delicious dishes, but also
his customers.
Near the entrance many bottles of wine are lined. I also recommend a glass of
grappa after dinner.

This restaurant near the heart of Padua is run by Martinato's family. Since they opened this restaurant here, the building was once almost destroyed by fire. Now there is no trace of that tragedy and make a nice space. The building itself is an old building with 100-year history. Although the entrance door is very small, inside is very charming and wide. Tableware, old pictures and flowers are making a good harmoney with the old building. High quality sense. However there is not too much formal atmosphere. The waiters' service is also pleasant, so you can enjoy delicious food calmly.
For Primo Piatto, it's recommended a dish of Venetian homemade pasta, Bigori. The noodles of Bigori are prepared every day and the combination with the source of pickled onion and anchovy oil is exquisite. Of course, this is one of the representatives of the Venetian cuisine. Here it's served in a plate along with oven-roasted tomatoes. Please crush these tomatoes with a fork and eat them with the pasta! So delicious! Beautiful and well presented, it's clear that they carefully cook and prepare every dish.
There are about 200 types of wines at any time. There are wines from Italy, especially from Veneto, and from France even from Australia. It's irresistible for lovers of wine. Prosecco (sparkling wine of Veneto), Valpolicella, Bardolino, Merlot, Cabernet, Chardonnay,,, feel free to ask a waiter some advices.
Their deserts have a light taste comparing normal Italian Dolce. They are very refreshing so it's perfect for removing a taste after a meal. You can ask a waiter what is the specialty of that day, because there is no particular standing menu. Personally, I recommend Zabaione. The taste is very light and floating source is very delicious. There are other deserts of chocolate (for example Tarte, but depends on the day) so please try.
"Degustazione" means a tasting full course. It cost 50 euros and you can enjoy traditional Padua's cuisine with a typical wine of Padua. It contents, Insalata di gallina Padovana con uvetta, pinoli, e balsamico (salad of wild hens from Padua with dried raisin and pines with Balsamic sauce), Risotto "coi fegatini" (stuffed risotto in the liver), Faraona in agrodolce con cipolline (Faraona is hens of this area) with sweet and sour sauce of onions), Zaeti con Zabaione (Zaeti along with Zabaione). It's a valuable course. Of course, there are a la carte menu, if you want.
