It is like a house of fairy tale, a cute candylike church. The white and pink
marbles reflect beautifully in the blue Italian sky.
Standing on the Arno River, it's a beautiful little Romanesque-Gothic church.
Built in 1230, the delicate Gothic spire and statues, reliefs are really attractive.
Originally it was the Oratorio (prayer place), but it became extended at the
beginning of the 14th century. Two doors, two arches and two rose windows side
by side... it seems like twins.
The interior consists of three arches, and there are two important statues of St. Giovanni and St. Peter by Tommaso Pisano.

A Romanesque church established in 925 and sertificated in 1032. Since 1092 the
monks of Vallombrosani had started to use this church, and become a monastery
in 1147. At the mid-12th century, it was enlarged in its present form like cathedral.
The front part of the decoration of the church was completed by Giovanni Pisano
in the 14th century. In the backyard there is a small octagonal chapel of Santa
Agata (Cappella di Sant'Agata).
The beautiful palace of the Caravan designed by Giorgio Vasari, who is famous
for the "Vasari's Corridor" in Florence.
Church of St. Stephen of Knights
This is the square of the Knights, where the Palazzo della Carovana (Hall of
the Caravan) and the Church of St. Stephen of Knights (Santo Stefano dei Cavalieri).
The Hall of Caravan was built by Giorgio Vasari between 1562 - 1564. Giorgio
Vasari also designed the Church of St. Stephen of the Knights, and its ceiling
decoration by sculptor Bartolomeo Atticiati is quite magnificent. Next to the
hall of the caravan, there is a palace with a decorated clock on the front (Palazzo
dell'Orologio).
